  1. Good am Bob,

Thank you, Bob. I thank you for your teaching. Understanding era of John the Baptist ended the Old Testament and started the New is Huge!

From what I read, the priesthood and leaders hated the message of the true prophets and persecuted and killed them instead of listening to them … and they listened to the false prophets who they didn’t kill! (Except for Elijah who did a thorough job.)

Mat_23:31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.
Luk_11:47 Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
1Th_2:15 Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:

How are the Old Testament prophesies examples for us to understand what is happening in our Generation? (This question came up talking to a friend who uses the OT prophets in a flesh/literal way – Israel in the land etc), and it was not clear enough in my mind to give her an informed answer as to how they are to be properly applied in our Generation.

Psa 133:1 A Song of degrees of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! Eph 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Eph 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:

    • Good am dear S,

I am not your teacher. You teach me! The Prophet’s of the Lord are True. Very few wanted to listen to them. Even with such great peril that if they told something that was false, they were stoned to death.

The people of Israel killed them for telling the Truth. They wanted to believe a lie. The Prophets of the old Testament tell us exactly what to do in our generation to our knowledge of the Truth.

Its up to each one to believe them or not. Each generation prepares both individually and as a people. Very sad in our generation for many have fallen because they listen to men. If all listen to what Moses said, what Abraham said, what David said and did it, This generation would be prepared.

Its what Our Lord Jesus Christ told us to do to prepare. He told us how to serve Him. Every generation seeks a sign and no sign will be given except repent. You are to be prepared and prepare all who will listen for His coming.

The people liken to the Old Testament Israel did not like what God said to do to prepare. Its says “Be ye Holy for I am Holy” So they changed the ordinances and the doctrine of God. They set up men over them to “Tell the People” what they “thought” and what they “needed to do”.

Men tell the people what is contrary to God. The Prophets and Apostles and the Lord Himself through his Word, tell Exactly what we are to do. Remember the same rebuke given to Satan, The Exact Quote “It is Written” is never changed. Many reject this idea that the Prophets are our Prophets now. They want another prophet to tell them something contrary to What God Said.

If you serve the Lord and obey his Commandments you do well. He told us that men will try and change His Doctrine and His Ordinance. They have. Our examples, parables, ensamples, similitudes and likenesses given through the Word of God for our understanding are the same as given to the people when they came out of Egypt.

The Lord does Not Change. If your guilty under the Law you will die. If you are not under the rule of a Holy God by His Son, you will die and be cast into Hell.

We are all likened to either Cain or Abel. Both told what to do and what was acceptable to the Lord. Cain killed Abel, because Abel made a Choice to Serve the Lord and Cain did not.

Nothing has changed but men will tell you what “They” think and what “They” say is acceptable to God. The Word of God is True and men are liars is the real truth. It is Written let no man deceive you.

  2. Morning Bob,

I was about to write to you to ask you about Luke 16;16. and Matt 11:12,13. Thank you, this teaching has been very edifying and is answering my questions.

    • Good pm/am Dear S,

Its not complicated if you consider the Law of God. In Deuteronomy, the Laws of the Prophets of the Lord can be found:

Deu 13:1 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
      Deu 13:2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
Deu 13:3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

Deu 13:4 Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.

Deu 13:5 And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.

If a man said he was a prophet of the Lord and what he prophesied did not come to pass, he was to be put to death.

Abraham is the first Prophet of God under the Old Testement.

      Aaron was a Prophet:
Exo 7:1 And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.

How a Prophet receives the prophesy from the Lord:

Num 12:6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.

Our Lord was a Prophet and was Prophesied by The Father Himself:

Deu 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

Both Luke 16;16 and Matthew 11: 12,13 are telling us from the Lord himself that the generation who the Prophet John the Baptist prophesied of the Lord Himself. would end the Old Testament and Begin the New Testament.

All of the Apostles were Prophets. That is the Last of the Prophesies which ended with the Apostle John and Revelation.

All the prophets of the Lord were True or they were killed. Since then, false prophets have been unpunished and continue until their Judgment.

At Our Lords resurrection, He ascended to Heaven to receive the Kingdom and is Ruling and Reigning since.

The False prophets from after John and the Apostles are now as a sign of Judgment unto the inhabitants of the Earth.

All the Old Testament prophesies are completed and are examples for us to understand what is happening in our Generation.
