  1. Just a side note in that I have downloaded many of your programs to listen to later because I am having a real hard time finding time these days.
Thanks Bill, also to Christ and Bob.

    • God bless you Vickie..WE love you, and your comments are always a blessing to Bob and myself. Bill

  2. 1 Peter 2-9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Revelation 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Revelation 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

This was also God’s original intent for the Hebrew children coming out of Egypt.

Exodus 19:6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

But after what happened in Exodus 32, God singled out the tribe of Levi (which came to Moses’ aid) as the priestly tribe and the rest were laity (so to speak).

Guess what? Clergy / laity is not New Testament! But the church of Saul has placed herself back under the bondage of Sinaitic rituals. Always moving backward in the flesh laboring to keep up appearances (the outside of the cup) wherein lives all sorts of abominations. The gospel in reverse always moving backwards striving in the flesh. For this Hagar/Church is of mount Sinai and is in bondage with her children. Galatians 4-25

  3. Makes sense of Daniel 9:24 … “Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression,”

(the golden calf transgression which resulted in the addition of the “law”)

“and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.”

  4. Dear Bill,

Thank you for this teaching. I apologise for writing to you so often.

Your teaching is very good. I hope this contribution will add more insight, this is my understanding andI may still have many misunderstandings.

Having come out of the Hebrew Roots movement, I have had a different path to the truth, different to the easy-grace gospel but my many hours of study may be useful to those who battle with misunderstanding Paul.

Paul was teaching in the small window (from 30AD to 70AD) when the “Covenant under the law” was still in effect but it was in the process of passing away … (Heb_8:13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away. )

The New Covenant was already in place (Pentecost 30AD). The Apostles, under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, were guiding the Jewish believers out of the old Levitical/temple system into the New Covenant…

The Judaizers of Paul’s day seemed not to be able to grasp the concept that the “covenant under the law” (Levitical system) was being replaced by the New Covenant “bound and loosed” by the Apostolic teachings (Matt 16:19 and Matt 18:18) – a change of covenant and a change of the priesthood. The Apostles were warning the Jews that the old covenant “under the law” was going to be completely destroyed as prophesied by Jesus in Matt 24 – the destruction of the temple in 70AD. Not one stone left upon another.

The Law written on stones (Exodus 20) were the terms and conditions of the Covenant.

Exodus 19:5 – 24:8 is “the book of the Covenant” (Mosaic and New) the covenant of promise (Genesis 15) – the promise of the Seed – (Gal 3:9).

The people broke the covenant at Sinai when they sinned with the golden calf and so they disqualified themselves from being the kingdom of priests and had to be shut up under the “law”

The Book of the Law was given … (Leviticus) the “works of the Law” was that which was administered by the Levitical priesthood: the sacrifices, judgements, feasts, and temple service.

The “law of faith” is that which is now administered by the better covenant and a better High Priest … (Heb_5:10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.)

The Law given to Moses was re-interpreted by Jesus; not any more written on stones but written on the fleshy tables of the heart …

2Co_3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

NOT done away with but magnified and added to … for example: not just loving your family and tribes but loving your enemies also and doing good to them, the way of peace.

    Deu 18:15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

Deu 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
Deu 18:19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

Moses instructed the people that when the Prophet came, he (Moses) would diminish because they must now listen to Him – the Prophet … Jesus the fullness of the Abrahamic covenant.

Luk 9:33 And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.
Luk 9:34 While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.
Luk 9:35 And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

Act 1:2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:

    Heb 7:26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
Heb 7:27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.
Heb 7:28 For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.

I think the reformers (Luther, Calvin etc) in rejecting the works of the Roman Catholic law – indulgences etc – swung the pendulum back too far … right out of scripture itself.

By moving away from the types and shadows, taught by the Law and the Prophets, which point us to our authentic Saviour– a sin offering Heb 7:26 – they have invented a Jesus of their own. I’m not convicted that this invented one has the authority and power of the Authentic Jesus or if he is just the image of the Beast?

Luk_16:16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

    • The people broke the covenant at Sinai when they sinned with the golden calf and so they disqualified themselves from being the kingdom of priests and had to be shut up under the “law”

Thank you S…This is a great addition. I had not focused on that. I have previously assumed that in Galatians 3-19 Paul was speaking about all of the law being added because of disobedience. However, it seems that it is as you say, “works of the law”, the ceremonial rituals. He was speaking on many occasions about the ritual laws all throughout the book of Galatians.

side note: And of course the breaking of the Covenant could not disannul the promise to Abraham which was given four hundred and thirty years after, it could not make the promise of none effect. The law was given 430 years after the promise to Abraham in Gen 12. The Hebrew children were in Egypt for 215 of those years and under bondage the last 100 years beginning with a Pharoah who knew not Joseph.

Isaac was weaned at 5 years old. This was 30 years after the promise to Abraham. The mocking of Isaac by Ismael began the 400 years of affliction upon thy seed Isaac that Stephan spoke of in Acts 7-6 concerning the prophecy given Gen. 15-13……………blessings always, Bill
